Privacy Policy

This policy explains how AvaDebt collects, uses, stores, and shares information for the budgeting app, subscription billing, support, and connected financial account features.

Last updated: June 20, 2026

1. Information AvaDebt collects

AvaDebt may collect account information such as name, email address, username, login details, authentication settings, billing status, support messages, and app preferences. AvaDebt also stores budget information users enter or import, including income sources, expenses, debts, balances, savings settings, goal plans, imported transactions, monthly history, and matching rules.

2. Bank and transaction data

When users connect accounts through supported providers such as Plaid, AvaDebt may receive account names, account types, balances, transaction details, credit card or loan information, minimum payments, due dates, interest information when available, and connection status. AvaDebt uses this information to help categorize transactions, update budget records, and show account progress.

3. Authorized professional sharing

Users may choose to share AvaDebt information with a financial professional, counselor, coach, educator, tax professional, attorney, lender, nonprofit organization, or other helper they authorize. If a user shares information, exports reports, shows their account, or uses a professional-access feature AvaDebt makes available, that authorized person may be able to view financial information in the account. AvaDebt may share information at the user's direction, but AvaDebt does not control how an outside professional or organization uses information once they receive it outside AvaDebt.

4. Billing data

AvaDebt uses Stripe for checkout, subscription billing, payment method management, and billing portal access. AvaDebt may store Stripe customer IDs, subscription IDs, subscription status, trial dates, cancellation status, and manual access overrides. Full card details are handled by Stripe and should not be stored by AvaDebt.

5. How information is used

AvaDebt uses information to provide the app, authenticate users, save budgets, calculate dashboard numbers, process imports, manage subscriptions, provide support, prevent abuse, improve product reliability, and comply with legal or security obligations.

6. Third-party providers

AvaDebt may use providers such as Supabase for authentication and database services, Vercel for hosting, Stripe for payments, Plaid for financial account connections, and email providers for support or transactional messages. These providers process information only as needed to support the service.

7. Security

AvaDebt uses security measures such as authenticated access, row-level access controls, HTTPS, encrypted budget snapshot storage, service-role separation, and optional multi-factor authentication. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and users should use strong passwords and protect their devices.

8. Sharing

AvaDebt does not sell personal budget information. AvaDebt may share information with service providers, when a user requests an integration, when a user authorizes sharing with another person or professional, to process billing, to provide support, to protect against abuse or security threats, or when required by law.

9. Retention and deletion

AvaDebt keeps account and budget information while an account is active or as needed for support, security, billing, legal, or operational reasons. Users may request deletion or support with account data through the contact page. Some billing, security, or legal records may need to be retained for a limited period.

10. User choices

Users can edit budget information inside the app, disconnect bank connections when available, manage billing through the Stripe portal, enable or remove MFA factors, and contact AvaDebt for account or privacy questions.

11. Children

AvaDebt is not intended for children under 13. Users should not create accounts for children or submit children's personal information.

12. Changes

AvaDebt may update this Privacy Policy as features, providers, laws, or business practices change. The updated date will show when the policy was last changed.
